Belle

06/18/15 (4)

I received her new prosthesis and delivered it to Colleen, Belle’s foster mom, and she put it on Belle. Fits well, no problem. I took the old one home and contacted the company to see if they would refurbish the old device. Yes they will!! I will take it to the post office tomorrow to send back. When they return it, I will forward it directly to you so you will have a spare.

I asked the company about how long these devices last, and they said it depends on the dog and the activity level. It could be months, a year, who knows. But, they will continue the 50% discount to the adoptive family of Belle for future replacements. That would be about $600. However, Pets for Patriots might be able to afford some assistance for replacements.

We will be meeting at Houston Park in Madisonville, TN, at 11 a.m. It is a very small park and not too difficult to find. If you GPS Houston Street on Your GPS, you will get there. There are a couple of Insurance companies at that corner, and you cannot see the park for the intersection of Houston Street and Main Street, but just follow Houston Street off of Main and you will drive right into the park. There is a pavilion there to provide shade if it is very hot.

Don’t worry if you have difficulty finding Houston Street, just call me on my cell ###-###-#### and I will come find you. You really should not have a problem with locating it on GPS.

Pets for Patriots has asked me to take some photos of Belle and Carl for them, and the shelter would like to have a family photo of you, Carl and Belle. We take photos of ALL adoptions.

When I went to see Belle this morning at Colleen’s, she was very wary of me (even though I have been going to vet appointments with her), but as soon as I started petting Colleen’s other dog, she came over and let me pet her too. She was outside running around with the dogs!!! It was beautiful to see how she has adapted to her prosthesis. Brought tears to my eyes. She has been through so much.

Colleen is going to email you directly with pointers on what has worked for her in caring for Belle, so you will not have to re-invent the wheel.

Looking forward to Saturday,

Anja
